Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos ( Greek word for God's Time ) Prison Ministry,

An Inter- National Christian organization, active in over 200 State and Federal prisons.


Twice a year the Kairos Men volunteers put on a 3-day active retreat at the Ironwood State Prison in Blythe, Calif.

The 3 day retreat is similar format as Cursillo in Christianity.

Volunteer Opportunities for MEN

 (a) Kiros Retreat Team - Work on the retreat team to organize and facilitate the 3 day retreats twice a year.

 (b)  Kiros Retreat Follow-up Team - Volunteers make once a month afternoon visit to State Prison for reunion with the Kairos graduates -Our Goal is to keep them encouraged in their Christian faith.

Volunteer Opportunities for WOMEN

(a)  Attend the closing Kairos Retreat ceremony twice a year at end of each Kairos Retreat.

(b)  Volunteer for Karios Outside- a retreat program for female relatives, of incarcerated men.

This ministry is an ecumenical ( all Christian Faiths ) lay lead ministry in medium-to-maximum security Correctional institutions.
Mission of Kairos- is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families, and those who work with them, and to assist the incarcerated in the transition to becoming a productive citizen.
